My Breast Cancer Story: Round and Round We Go

Things have been going well minus all the pain. I finally found a new oncologist and she had me get abdominal, chest and pelvic cat scans, which did not show anything significant. Thanks to God. She also referred me to pain management, which is the best thing anyone has done for me since 2018. I am now taking two narcotics and ketamine infusions weekly. The treatments have really reduced my pain for about a week and a half, I was feeling great. Then the pains, especially abdominal and rib pain started again at full strength.

Pain aside, my family and I went out for lunch one day and as I was going to the restroom (TMI coming), there was a small blood clot and some tinges of blood on the toilet paper after urinating. My OB-GYN told me at my initial meeting that if there was any type of bleeding to call the office immediately. This stemmed from the fact that post-menopausal women should not have a uterine lining more than 0.4mm and my baseline ultrasound showed that I was already slightly over 0.4.

So, I called the doctor’s office as instructed and scheduled an appointment. The doctor said the examination looked okay, but she did want to do another ultrasound to see if there was anymore thickening. I asked her at what thickness would she be concerned and she responded that any thickening would cause concern. She told me that if it had thickened and depending on how thick it was she would want to do an endometrial biopsy.

Guess what folks…yep, the same old luck for me. I was now at a 1.98 in thickness so woohoo…endometrial biopsy here I come.
